Disinfecting Swords

Postby TheBloodyJarl » 22 Feb 2018 05:06

I recently acquired a well used cup hilt rapier from a friend. Before incorporating used items into my collection, I prefer to sanitize them. The blade, cup, quillions, and grip all appear to be carbon steel while the pommel could be brass. What disinfectants or methods would you recommend without negatively affecting the steel, as I still want to use the sword for sparring?
