Colin - what kind of finger tips are you using? Where did you get them from?

Only £95 cheaper than brine hockey gloves.

Way to heavy and limiting. Why get a decent longsword, worry about the weight and balance, only to add another 1.5 kg at your hands?
admin wrote:A bit of a misconception here – armoured longsword fighting is about full armour (and is practically all halfswording and wrestling), unarmoured longsword is no different to sabre, backsword or rapier – it’s about unarmoured civilian fighting in regular clothes (with leather gloves and a jacket at most).
Steel gauntlets can work for longsword sparring practice, so long as they are the lighter kind and well made. The problem with cheap steel gauntlets is that they tend to be either too heavy or too thin (one extreme or the other), and they practically never fit you properly because they are ‘off the shelf’ (my gauntlets cost around £300 and I still had to do various alterations to get them working properly). Therefore you can’t move properly in them and they will hurt you, both when you are hit and through chaffing. If you spend £300 minimum on a pair of gauntlets then you will get something good that you could use safely and comfortably for longsword fencing. But remember if you do this that you are wearing gauntlets for protection in a modern sport – a hit on your hands in unarmoured longsword still counts as a hit to your unarmoured hands, because no civilian is going to wander around wearing gauntlets (any more than a modern civilian goes around wearing a crash helmet).

The very same, I was curious about the price as Purpleheart didn't include it in their post. $129.99 seems reasonable, especially compared to the cost of a broken bone.
Correction, Purpleheart just posted the same price of $129.99
