More people are taking an interest in Mair's work, and translations keep trickling in. Jason Taylor has contributed a translation of the flail section, and Keith Myers has finished his translation of the longsword material.

Hello,

You will find the entire transcription of the Ms.Dresd C.93 and the part of the Ms.Dresd C.94 for the fighting without armour :
http://reght.wordpress.com/retranscript ... ctor-mair/

click on "Manuscrits retranscrits en lien avec Paul Hector Mair".

Like I've just to finish the translation to french, I will be happy to exchange about some problem with englishmen translators.

I post this here because when Michael Chidester would have time, he would put it on Wiktenauer website (more lisable and accessible).

Best regards,

Thanks Pierre! Are you actively practicing/researching from Paulus Hector Mair's Fechtbuch? If so, we should compare notes! And you should check out my other post on this forum that has links to threads I started on some of my research at the HEMA Alliance forum.

thank,

Actually, I study Paul Hector Mair (principaly Ms. Dress C93 and C 94), in the frame of a doctorat at the University of Lille III :
http://irhis.recherche.univ-lille3.fr/5D-Bas.html and of the REGHT association.

I have an interest for Paul Hector Mair's martial books because I can find all of weapons studied in judicial sources (remissions letters) and do a better approach of Martial theories and practices in franco-burgundie and germanic societies, from the end of the Middle Ages to the Renaissance.

During the transcription I studied principally the staff, the dagger and the Rossfechten. Now I continue with swords and dussacks. I will read you with a lot of attention.

Best regards,

Pierre-Henry
