Hello,
I am a long time lurker and after corresponding with Matt through email and other fora (SFI and the Victorian Wars Forum) I decided to register. I collect British military swords, with an emphasis on officers' fighting swords of the Victorian period. I prefer swords with provenance, but I appreciate all fighting swords of the period regardless of whether or not provenance can be established. I am not a practitioner of any sort of martial art, although reading this forum has me interested in pursuing British infantry sword exercise. I hope to be able to contribute to some of the discussions pertaining to Victorian swords and to learn more about the swordsmanship of the period.

Good to see you here Jonathan. For the other readers - Jonathan knows a lot about Victorian swords and the sources of the Victorian era, so I'm really happy to have him here.
