St James's park

Postby Abomination » 24 Apr 2009 11:55

As I'm off hitting things in france for the next couple of weeks. SG8 decided last night they would like to meet for informal sparring/training. The above venue was suggested as the most central.

Obviously everyone is welcome. Although I suggest leaving steel swords at home.

Dates & times are yet to be confirmed.

The other place suggested was Regent's Park - very easy for me to get to, but can be a bit of a pain for some, depending on transport connections.

Are we thinking weekend daytime, or a Thursday evening 'get as much done before sunset' type of thing?

Just for information, we used to spar in Hyde Park sometimes and never had any problems. You might find St.James' attracts unwanted attention, being surrounded by Government departments, Army barracks and Buckingham Palace.

Since nobody else is jumping in to suggest a time and place, I'll nominate:

Saturday, May 2nd and May 9th, 2 pm - 4 pm, Regent's Park

Meet in the open area in the north-east corner, next to the zoo:

Other suggestions welcome of course.

Well if Nigel or anyone else who has the emails of all/some of the SG8 members could send round a notice.

I'll probably drop in for the 9th. I plan on being far too fragile on the 2nd to enjoy getting beaten up.

I should be able to attend - Midday is better for me, but I should be able to do 2pm.

Nigel already sent around a mass email, and I sent a follow-up with these dates and location. Nobody responded. Maybe all the addresses besides mine on Nigel's email were wrong...

That's four and a half of us anyway, which isn't so bad. Guess I better buy some equipment.

Well, I didn't get this so it's quite possible that some of the addresses are wrong (or mine got missed off the list).

Doh. Too bad. Nigel, if you happen to see this between bottles of Burgundy, and there happen to be any stray email addresses you have, maybe you could send out another notice. If all else fails, we can all just stab Nuggan repeatedly.
