The Dawn Duellists Society (
http://www.dawnduellists.co.uk/ ) is proud to present the Smallsword Symposium, a gathering of those interested in the many and diverse ways of the smallsword- a very much maligned and misunderstood weapon.
The event will happen on Saturday and Sunday 26 and 27th September 2009 in the gymnasium of the Edinburgh Academy, Edinburgh, Scotland.

Price of admission will be £25 for the weekend, reduced to £20 for those with membership of a BFHS recognised society, payment to be taken at the event.
Since this event is open to all it will cover a range of topics of interest from the curious beginner all the way through to the most experienced and practiced of smallsword fencers.
Classes shall be-
Saturday
Basic smallsword skills and terminology- Mr Phil Crawley (DDS Instructor) and Mr Ian Macintyre (DDS Instructor, BFHS CI)
Some thoughts on French courtsword- Mr Ian Macintyre (DDS Instructor, BFHS CI)
An introduction to the New Method- Dr Milo Thurston (LSD Instructor, BFHS CI)
Sunday
Smallsword against other contemporary weapons
A contest to finally see who is right- the New Method or the Common Method
Plus ample opportunity to freeplay, learn and meet other like minded people.
