Noorderwind member moves to the UK

Postby Tarim » 04 May 2008 22:53

As the title says, one of our Militia members will move to the U.K. in October and will stay there for a year. He'll be living in Newcastle and is looking for a group to practice his insane swordplay skillz.
Naturally, as you seem like a bunch of fine and decent(*cough*) folk, I told him to look for Schola, but I don't know if you operate anywhere near the place.

Any info would be much appriciated!

I don't really know where everything is in that part of the world, but I think maybe the SSS have something in Newcastle direction:

Bob Brooks who posts here as Hotspur may be reasonably close with his school.

Bob Brooks is in Alnwick/Warkworth

The SSS with their group in Boldon- just south of Newcastle, however I don't know how long that group will last with the SSS shakeup that's going on at the moment. There is also the SSS Durham group at Brancepeth Castle if you head south for 30 mins-again it may falter with the reforms.

Edinburgh is only 90 mins away by train- we have two schools with 12 regular sessions a week between them.

And another Noorderwind member moves to the UK :D (at least for a few months). I'm coming to Leicester, so if there's anyone whom I can train with, that would be great!

There used to be Baden Favell and the Duelling Association in that area but I haven't heard from them in years.

I was under the impression that there was some KDF branch in Leicester, but I'm not sure...

I should have myslef organised for Dragon's Tayle's first training session in early October.

I've already got one Dutch guy, Mark K, who did your workshop at FC coming along, and there is also interest from a fellow forumite plus a couple of others guys from in and around the local area.

It may be that there might be some coming down from Newcastle to join in, though perhaps not on such a regular basis.

Please pass on my details if you think he might be interested.

That's fine, I'm happy to travel as long as I don't have to give up swordfighting! Which group is in Nottingham?

It seems that I'm moving yet again, this time to Manchester (but not until February). Is there a club there?

There is SG6 in Bradford (not far on the train) or there is an EHCG bunch over in Liverpool.
