Making a PVC 60 pound bow for $10

I've been bit by the archery bug ever since absolutely loving playing a hunter/archer/assassin type character in Skyrim
I found this vid on how to make a bow with 60 pound draw using PVC.

I want to make something that would be atleast in terms of length and design similar to an English bow

Is this possible or advisable with PVC?
Understand I'm looking to make something that will allow me to learn the basics of archery while not costing me 50$. I have no plans on taking up hunting with a bow at the moment, at least not until I can afford hunting lessons.

I would appreciate any experienced archer's input on this.

I made a few for fun, nothing close to sixty pounds, but it does work. I would just be worried about the PVC shattering when it gets old.

Yeah it's a really cool, cheap survival bow method. As to its similarities to the English longbow - probably not all that similar. Still, you could have a good time for cheap with it. There are other, reasonably cheap bows out there that will last a while, but these run closer to 200 dollars than 10.

Weird, I never would have thought of doing that
When I was a kid I used to make bows from bamboo garden poles.

You can find pretty cheap wooden bows online.
