Latest Stupid banana Offer

Postby Cutlery Penguin » 01 May 2006 17:42

Because of a group order I've put together on another forum I am able to offer one of these.

Image

For the supidly low sum of £135.

It is through hardened 9260 steel with a single fuller running the length of the blade. It comes in a shira-saya (resting scabbard) and the recommended retail price is £215.

Yes you did read that right. You get it at a ridiculous saving of £80 off the rrp.

It doesn't include postage and as the order has yet to be placed you will have to wait a couple of weeks to get your hands on it but I guarantee you will not get a sword this good cheaper.

La la la la, I can't hear you! I can't hear you!

I'm not sure how much longer I can go on resisting these....

And Oz - Check your voice mail or ask your missus to tell you that I called earlier :)

It's a good deal!

Alternatively you could by my custom one of a kind Howard Clark L6 banana for $7k US.

I think the choice is obvious!

Here I was thinking of getting back into kendo since I missed it so much, but Thom has scared me away. I forget how expensive bananas are. And yes, I know this thread is about cheap bananas of good quality but I can't understand what the funny L-shaped symbol means.

Well at least when I'm in self-denial I plead ignorance instead of covering my ears and yelling.

It's the international monetary symbol for the British Pound.

I'm aware Thom, but if I pretend I don't know how much it costs then I can't buy it. I know! I'll pretend like I don't know the conversion rate!

But...but...the Cold Steel sale is in 2 weeks, and in June I have to pay Tinker and take delivery of my custom kilic.

(Speaking of kilics, I solved the spelling problem. I never knew whether the correct orthography was kilic or kilij. The correct spelling is kilic because in Turkish that final C is pronounced like a j. I think it needs a diacritical mark, but you get the idea.)

Plus, Oz is a nice guy, whilst Lynn C Thompson looks very silly.

And Oz has a little girl. Are you going to take food from her mouth and give it to a big fat silly looking twerp like Thompson? Honestly Alina, I never thought you could be so cruel!

*Do you think that may be laying it on a bit thick?

No, I considered that too. But, Oz isn't offering a shamshir with an Ottoman hilt. Of course, I'm still not sold on the stupid fuller running down the blade. Never in my life have I seen a shamshir with a fuller before. Maybe I need to get out more, but they certainly aren't common. And you're right, Thompson is very silly looking. It's kind of embarrassing to watch the DVD's of him panting - not during the testing but just from the effort of standing there to talk about the knife.

As a fat twerp like Thompson I agree!

We need less food in our bellies!

Buy from Oz, he's a good guy, with an adorable daughter.

No! James should definitely buy from Oz! He has this whole pounds thing down, and the shipping is shorter distance. AND he wants a banana. I actually happen to prefer a nice bokken to a nice banana. Always have. I guess I read too much Eiji Yoshikawa as a small child.

I've spoken to a few guys who have trained with him and he is apparently pretty good on the mat, and I'm sure he'd be great fun to go for a beer with, but he doesn't half look like a plonker.

Have you seen the 'More Proof' bit where he gets so excited about the 1796? It's like watching an especially excitable labrador with his favourite bone. I was half expecting him to have a little accident...
