Sword as a gift ideas.

Postby Frosth » 16 Feb 2016 07:26

Hello,
I'd like to address you with some uncommon question.
I am thinking of buying a sword as a gift to a person who is descendant of an ancient eastern European noble family. Bearing this fact in mind, what kind of weapon would you suggest? I must mention that the sword has to be "battle ready", i.e. not a sword-like-object, from one side, and beautiful from the other.
In fact, combining these two requirements for functionality and aesthetics, I came up with a thought about a schiavona or a rapier with a slight broader blade than usually. Maybe I am wrong :)
Also, I've performed a little craftsmen research and found a few interesting examples of schiavonas and rapiers made by these armories/craftsmen:
Pavel Marek ("Armory Marek"), Del Tin, Arms & Armor, Danelli, Lutel, Vladimir Cervenka, Fabri Armorium. Which one would you recommend for such a task?

Thank you so much.

Danelli if you are not in a rush. The wait is worth it.

Reinier,
Thank you. They forge really fine weapons indeed.
