A happy update: in a dark unknown corner of the internet, a friend of mine found another argentinian blacksmith who builds quite better swords, I would even suggest they are as beautiful and well finished as any Albion. I already contacted him, I'm awaiting for prices information, and I'll try my best to get one. Finally an historically accurate and beautiful sword is in my grasp :D

Happy indeed! He seems to be a fine sword-maker - I particularly like the Germanic spatha. Now we will all be wondering how to import swords from Argentina!

Phew ! You can tell the other guy to give the sword back to Aragorn. (For everyone has spotted that it simply is a copy of the sword model in LOTR, done with aluminum fittings, yes ?)

I wanted to share my happiness (an update on this topic): I finally got a good longsword!

A friend of mine some time ago found a blacksmith who does very nice work, and put me in contact with him. He agreed to make a longsword about 2 months ago. It was his first longsword (he mostly did smaller pieces before), but I was confident in his skills. Last friday I finally got it, and it's beautiful :)
