Is this similar to the Regenyei saber?

It's hard to tell how Matt feels about the Hanwei Hutton saber.

It's just too tempting to comment: "For a rodent, maybe...."

They're sold out and no firm date for resupply.

On the positive side, if Matt's efforts are successful, the V&A will be loaning out unneeded blades for practice.

That's an error and they are correcting it. It should be back listed shortly - though currently out of stock waiting for the next batch.

Any idea when it will be available again? Tried getting in touch with the shop but haven't heard back from them yet :(

Just an update for anyone else waiting for the new stock; I emailed The Knights Shop this morning to ask if/when they're going to be restocking the Red Dragon Easton sabres and they said that they're expecting the prototypes in very soon and if they're up to scratch then they will begin production and hope to have them back available before Christmas.

Of course if the prototypes aren't up to scratch then that will mean more delays, so fingers crossed the prototypes are good....

I have one from what must be an early batch, and I'm not sure one of them is quite true, after a vigorous thrust.

The early blades suffered a lot of quality control problems. Some were fantastic (mine is still going strong since prototype stage) and some were too soft. At Swordfish a lot of them bent! This led the HEMA Shop to suspend production and start to relocate production to the UK, where product control can be more closely managed and everything will be more reliable. Unfortunately, this has been a VERY lengthy process. I have been waiting for prototypes to get to me for... well for months and months. In the meantime my club has been buying Regenyei Armoury sabres instead. However, I do expect prototypes to get to me for testing some time in the future and I have some tweaks/improvements planned. Obviously when I have news, you'll have it. If there isn't any news from me, then there isn't any news. ;)
