"The Sword and the Pen": two tales of swashbuckling fiction

Postby Tony Wolf » 13 Feb 2014 22:08

Announcing the publication of The Sword and the Pen, a compilation of swordplay stories by Egerton Castle.

Castle was, as many will be aware, a collaborator with Captain Alfred Hutton during the first serious HES revival of the late 19th century. He was also a successful professional novelist whose books often featured fencing themes.

My Rapier and My Daughter is a witty, lighthearted romance of star-crossed lovers, played out almost entirely within the rapier fencing academy of Master Vincentio Saviolo. The Great Todescan's Secret Thrust concerns the quest of a young English bravo to learn the invincible death stroke of a mysterious master swordman. The anthology also includes my biographical essay, Egerton Castle, the Romantic Swordsman.
