I am currently reading this and it is pretty good. It is packed with history, info on naval close combat and lots of images.

There are some details here and there that I somewhat disagree with and a few that I think are plain wrong, but by and large it is a fairly unique study of naval close combat, covering swords, cutlasses, tomahawks and axes, pikes, bayonets and knives. Also touching on firearms. There is a lot of information in the book and given how few books there are combining history and combat studies I have no hesitation in recommending this. The information contained is not only relevant to British naval combat but to essential all European and American naval close combat in the age of sail. Get it!
