For Sale: various medieval, Viking and assorted items

Postby KeithFarrell » 04 Apr 2013 12:26

Some price drops, marked in red.

I'm looking to sell a few of my old bits of re-enactment kit so that I can buy some new toys :) so, the following is a list of items with a price that I would like to get for each of them in an ideal world. Of course, this isn't an ideal world, so if you feel like bartering me down then give me a fair price for what you think you can pay for them and let's negotiate.

Already sold:
- kettle helmet
- scramaseax
- hand axe
- blunt training sword
- hounskull bascinet
- leather tricorner
- wooden pan pipes
- semi sharp decorative dagger
- fox fur tail
- inkle weave
- white cotton trousers (large)
- butted chainmail byrnie
- velvet hat

- Blue silk shirt, somewhat Viking in style. It would fit a small male, or a reasonably sized child. The silk is quite nice and the stitching is quite good - I sewed it all by hand myself when I was learning the craft. However, the pattern isn't quite right - it would do for a child in a re-enactment group, or perhaps as a showpiece for school visits or something along those lines. In an ideal world I would like £40 (was £50) for it. If you think £40 is too much then make me an offer, I'm happy to negotiate!

- White cotton trousers, MEDIUM, new and unworn. These are nice trousers, a natural slightly off-white colour. I bought these for a friend a while ago but they didn't fit properly. The waist measurement is approximately 90cm; the inner leg is approximately 81cm and the outer leg is approximately 106cm. They cost £30 new. In an ideal world I would like £18 (was £25) for it. If you think £18 is too much then make me an offer, I'm happy to negotiate!

- Entry level clarinet with solid carrying case. It has a nice sound and works well. I got this a few years ago with the intention of learning the instrument, but have never really played it and don't have the time to start learning a new instrument. It cost me £90 new. In an ideal world I would like £60 (was £70) for it. If you think £60 is too much then make me an offer, I'm happy to negotiate!

If you would like to make me an offer for what you think would be reasonable for one or more of these items then we can discuss the issue - I welcome offers that you think you can afford easily that are reasonable for me as well.

I am posting these items on LivingHistory.co.uk, the Schola Gladiatoria forum and (what I am allowed to post) on eBay. It will be much cheaper if you PM me about it here ;-)
