It's better if you get it yourself, firstly because it's simpler, but also because Tod can tell you what kind of blades he has in stock and you can decide which one you want. I told him the type of blade I wanted and luckily he had just the right thing. He has lots of different kinds of blades though.

I am not sure if I want a blade with one edge and a thick back or a tripple edge...

Does anyone have any nice pictures of rondel daggers?
And also I would like to know if this changes with time period.

Just a small note - that article is good, but based on my own researches I don't agree with all the dates on the daggers shown - but those are the dates given by the museums, so it is those museums I disagree with, not the author of the article.
Andreas, it seems to me that most rondel daggers had two edges in the 14thC until probably the late-14thC when more single-edged ones appear. It's very hard to indentify blade types on rondels in art usually though.. Certainly triangle-section blades were quite common in the second half of the 15thC, but I am not sure when they started appearing with any commonality.

I took a few pics last time I visited the Musée de l'Armée. They have more daggers than before on display. I'll try to upload them soon.

Well, unfortunately it is not that unusual for museums to have probably-wrong dates on medieval artifacts is it?..
I'd really love to see those pics Fab - my own pictures from the Musee de l'Armee are old and of poor quality - do they still let people take pics and do with them as they like?

I think posting pics online are not allowed - though I'm quite sure they don't spend their days browsing the internet searching for illegal pics

I'll upload them later today if I can - most of them are quite blurry, but others are not too bad.

The Musée has been entirely renewed - the Med and Ren rooms, that is. Quite sinpired by Vienna actually. A funny thing is that every undated weapon they have is attributed ti the XIIIth century hehe

Lots of dates there are wrong IMO too as well.

Been working on this today. 1095, edge quenched in water. Gonna finish whipping the handle in linen thread, then go over it with paracord. Really pleased with the hamon, as usual it doesn't show up well in the photo but you get the picture...
