Advice: Any reviews of AF gloves yet?

So, the gloves are out now. Wondering what the folk who bought them think about them. Has anyone given them a go yet? How's the protection? Mobility?

Almost bought a pair. Decided against it. They were too big and bulky. I couldn't hold the sword ( a type III purpleheart) and maintain edge alignment. The sword kept spinning in my hand. I'll wait for something better to come along.

I had a pair and really didn't like them. Another person in my group found them a little better, perhaps due to differently shaped hands. They are currently trying to break them in with some success.

I also didn't like the thumb.

I am now in possession of a pair of these gloves and have tried to wear them a couple of times. They are not very good the first few times you put them on, but they do begin to soften up and break in to the shape of your hands. I mean to start a thread shortly to post reviews of my gloves as I go through the breaking in process over a few weeks.

I had the opportunity to use my new pair this Sunday in some freeplay.

1) Do not wear gloves underneath them. If so you will not be able to feel the blade alignment.

2) They feel pretty bad at first, but by the end of the 2 hour class I felt much better about them. And They really provide a lot of protection.

3) Expect to adjust them a bit at first. May need a hairdryer or heat gun to mold the fingers/thumbs, but once done it's a pretty good fit.

I can't see myself going back to using Hockey/Lacross gloves after using them. They are much better.
