Kicking off Fiore 600 at SWASH

Postby Mark Lancaster » 03 Dec 2009 13:00

I've put up a general advert about SWASH 2010 (viewtopic.php?f=10&t=14179) but it is also worth mentioning that this will be the first (or close to first) major event that will celebrate the 600th anniversary of Fiore.

As such there is a Fiore theme running through the event with instructors from both the UK and USA. This promised to be something really special.

Do you have the instructor lineup sorted out yet, Mark?
I still can not say whether I'm able to attend or not, unfortunately.

We've put together names for each slot, but still kept it fluid in the hope that you will be able to attend (basically I plan to hold off for as long as possible - however long that will be). There are also a couple of people that I still need to approach.

Currently we have (as slot "leaders"):

  • Jim Sephton (UK, BFHS)
  • Rob Lovett (UK, BFHS)
  • Barry Young (UK, BFHS)
  • Greg Mele (USA)
  • Sean Hayes (USA)

As it's a BFHS event then we want to keep it primarily (i.e. the majority) BFHS groups and those that focus on Fiore are:

  • Schola Gladatoria (which is why I hope you can make it - or someone else can step in)
  • The Exiles (we will have Rob and others there)
  • The Grange (Jim has said he'll do a slot)
  • ASG (Barry is doing a slot and I'm hoping that ASG will do another slot)

As there is a continuous Fiore thread running through the timetable, I'm hoping that this will really get the 600th celebrations off to a good start.

Cheers,

Mark
