Mondays or Wednesdays would probably be best for me as well. I seem to remember someone saying that they could not do Mondays though - Simon?

I *could* do Mondays if that turns out to be best for the majority, but I'd rather another day if possible.

Hi Barry, no I haven't - see the last few posts :). I'm trying to work out what day would be most popular, and then I need to find a venue that is available for that day.
Regards,
Matt

Monday is looking like the most popular then (and most practical for me personally).

That's a pain. Monday is definitely the best day for me.

Ah well, you've got to go for the greater good, that's understandable.

I am shelving SG5 for the time being, as running SG1 and FightCamp is keeping me busy enough and SG1 has a really high attendance at the moment. I don't really have any extra time to devote to a new chapter. Enquiries I have been getting about SG5 I have been directing to Oz's English Martial Arts Academy, who already have an established class in Guildford.

Is there still any interest in me running something of some kind in Guildford? If I did then it would probably be semi-formal and semi-regular and probably on a weekend morning. If so, what weapons are people most interested in covering?

Semi-formal/regular sounds good and I'd be up for it. Military sabre, single stick, dagger and anything unarmed would interest me most but I'd be happy to have a go at anything really. My mate Nick may also still be interested and I'll certainly mention it to him when I see him next.

If I did an occasional Saturday or Sunday morning would that work for you?

There'd be times when it wouldn't, of course, but generally yes. Nick just texted to say "yes" too :D

I'm very interested in this class, but could only do Wednesdays (not Mondays) or Sundays (not Saturdays)! Awkward I know! Would be up for learning sabre and cutlsss as mentioned. Could probably do fortnightly only with my SG1 commitments! But would see week by week.

Okay, so occasional Sunday mornings are a possibility. To clarify, this would only be irregular (didn't mean semi-regular) and I don't want the hastle of organising a venue so we'd just do something in a park when the weather was dry - I'll have a think about it. Cheers!

Does anything still happen occasionally on a Sunday ?

Hi,

No, we never did anything Schola-wise in Guildford - I go down to Oz's class at the Spectrum on Mondays sometimes, which is really cool and I recommend.

We have met up a few times at the Spectrum on Sundays and done informal sparring with a handful of people - this is something both Lucy and I may do more of from this summer onwards.

From this summer onwards I will also be doing some armoured training occasionally with a few guys locally. If anybody reading this has more or less full plate harness and would like to join us, let me know!

Just a little update to this - we are definitely trying to get a once-a-month armoured session going, so anybody with armour who fancies having a play get in touch. Alternatively, if you'd like to do armoured stuff and don't yet have armour, feel free to get in contact anyway and maybe we can help the process.
