This is a better thread anyway, since it's the correct park. Meeting from 14:00 to 16:00, starting at the Big White Fountain:

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&mrt=all&ie=UTF8&t=h&ll=51.532832,-0.150622&spn=0.001305,0.003538&z=19

So far we have confirmed: Tim, Nigel, George, Matt (ie Nuggan), Ian (arrive late), Nick (quite late if at all), and me. Hopefully Chris as well, although he hasn't specifically said. Phil won't be there, as he's dying of swine flu at the moment.

I assume we're going to fight in the same corner as last time.

What-ho, chaps!!
You can add me as a "confirmed" - our post-SG8 discussions last night convinced me not let my temporary lack of full kit stand in the way!

Reckon I'll swing by Leon Paul on the way for a mask (top idea George!) - if so I'd be there 3pm rather than 2...

Just to check: where are we fighting, somewhere in the corner NW of the initial fountain meeting point ???

Cheers,
Junaid

Guys, if you want to get gloves then I highly recommend these:

http://www.uklacrosse.com/tempo-20-i56.html

I've been using mine for a couple of weeks now (including the event in Dijon with lots of sparring) and they are great.
The other thing you'll want to get soon is a cup/box/groin protector. I just use a £3 one from a sports shop and it's saved my knackers countless times.

I bought a pair of those Tempo2 gloves after reading all the positive reviews on here. I've only used them once and I already love them.

Corpsie: since Tim has hijacked the meeting location, I dunno if we'll spar in the same place or not. Since you're coming late, grab Tim's mobile number from the other thread. That way if we're not in the same place, you can bother the man himself.

Cheers Matt,

gloves are the one thing that I did get, stickfighting ones that are sadly somewhat bulkier than the Tempo2's.. ..
Sylvan let me try on his new pair last night - light and not too bulky, nice flat ventilated gripping surface - definitely a bargain at 27 quid!

Good point on getting cup/groin protection  .. hehh, 'para scrotum' indeed.
(I'll search the forum for any recommendations... never used anything like this before  )

Right, before I forget I'll go hunt down Tim's mobile number for tomorra.

Thanks thanks... If you do drop by Leon Paul could you please do me a favour and ask them if they have all Fencing Jackets from the website in stock?

Dear Admin, is it possible to perhaps lock the other topic as we might confuse everyone :D

I have swords here. The people keeping me waiting are, wisely, in a different city.

wrong lesson.

Correct lesson: get legs out of way and whack George in head

Got Tim's message. so thanks Nigel.
Angua: Don't worry, we won't need weapons.
Cheery: Oh, good.
Angua: They wouldn't be any use.
Cheery: Oh.
