It seems like a very substantial sword, and I'm thinking of commissioning a version of it once I'm re-employed.

Would love to hear from anyone who has handled it.

This is why I love Peterregenyei, we bought a custom one-hander blunt, wish we had ordered it sharp, the balance is great but the way it handles makes you think twice about dismissing those pictures of helmets getting split.

They have arrived!

They handle Amazingly! Easily the nicest longswords I have owned.

Fit and Finish is very nice and equal to the originals.

The Grinds are on Par with Albions. The Cross and Pommel are extremely well done as well.

Very happy with my purchase and highly suggest Peter Regenyi's work!

I think I shall be spending more with him!

We have also had nothing but good experiences with him, can highly recommend him in all respects, he makes his blunts to handle more like sharps than most anything you can buy (including albions) as such you have to watch how you parry more than with clunky blades but you get a much better feel. I want to buy a sharp from him at some point.

His sharps are just the perfect sharpness level. Not a fragile razor, but sliding/pushing cuts work quite well with them.

I've been training with the blunt quite a bit, and I've discovered that that the rings and quillions on the guard have offensive trapping capabilities that are particularly useful for preventing your opponent from countering certain winging techniques.

It's extremely effective and I'm convinced that there's volumes of lost techniques designed for these complex hilted longswords.

Out of curiosity, how much did they end up costing?

Best to ask him. I think it's somewhere in the $400 Euro range.

I'll be bringing it to Edelson's tournament end of this month if you want to play around with it a bit.

I have a longsword blunt from him with the S-type crossguard, if you give the sword a twist while winding or doing Absetzen it traps the opponents blade and you just slide along it with your bodyweight and you hit him in the throat or eye and he can't avoid it because you've got the weapon trapped. We call it the hallelujah trail

And yes compared to Albion his prices are crazy good, the quality and design is also better in my view.

Absolutely!

And yes that is one of the techniques the curved guard is great for. But there are others as well that the rings enable as well.
