Tournament next Saturday!

Postby admin » 04 Dec 2016 18:42

Next Saturday 10 December there is a very special tournament being held and there are still places available to compete ( http://www.festivefightingfun.com/ ).

The event is primarily organised by Martin Austwick of the English Martial Arts Academy with collaboration from myself and Schola Gladiatoria.

As well as the ticket price (£45) including a donation to a research charity, you get to play in some melee games and try the VERY FIRST OUTING of an experimental new HEMA rule set. I have dubbed this rule set 'Ring of Steel' in homage to a fantastic movie ( :p ).

The basis of the rules are the standard FightCamp rules, which have evolved over many years, but with an adaptation to enable a somewhat fair competition between all types of steel one-handed sword. Rapier vs backsword. Falchion vs smallsword. The rules can be found here - http://www.festivefightingfun.com/wp-co ... -Rules.pdf

If you have next Saturday available, why not hop in a train or car and come to play with us. BOOK NOW! It should be a lot of fun, as well as helping out a worthwhile charity.

I like swords more than you.
