Just finished making my first vambrace recycled from an old suitcase.

6 hours work, total cost about £5 (for needles, thread and Stanley knife).

Not bad. How's wrist mobility?

Thanks. Wrist mobility is fine because it's not reinforced over the wrist. The real test will come tonight during practice.

Ended up much tighter than I planned though because I sewed the buckles on to the first layer without factoring in how much thicker it was going to be with the extra layer and reinforcement. My stitching leaves a lot to be desired as well, I'll probably end up paying a tailor to adjust the buckle position and add some stronger stitching.

Cheers! Reminds me of when a buddy of mine and I used to play with leathercraft years ago. Back then I was working on wax-hardened llamelar. Oh how time flies!
