Time for the launch of "(the) HEMA Podcast: Mightier Than the Pen"

It's about time for a podcast about HEMA. I'm a great fan of podcasts, and when I couldn't find a podcast about the Martial Art I love, I decided to make my own with a couple of friends. A community this big and awesome deserves to be heard and seen in all kinds of media. My hope is for this podcast to rise from its humble beginnings to something great (or at least good).

Our goal is to be a news outlet for the HEMA community as well as a time sink for all the sword nerds out there. The podcast features interviews with HEMA profiles, round table discussions and a straight up news section. The episodes will be delivered to your doorstep once am month.

In the first episode we talk about the different ways that you can get into HEMA. We also have a interview with the legendary Axel Petterson, who talks about the upcoming Swordfish.

The sound quality will be a bit low in the first episode but will improve for the next episode.

In this months episode we have a interview with Piermarco Terminiello who’ve found and translated Nicoletto Gigantis “lost” second book together with Joshua Pendragon.

A new episode is out.

This episode I talk to Mariana López one of the co-founders of Esfinges, a female international HEMA Network. Lopez mentions the HEMA Charity Campaign, a initiative to support the people of Syria.

We discuss a variety of different rules systems among them Vasaslagets sword and buckler rules, the longsword rules from Swordfish 2013, and the historical Franco-Belgian turnament format.

In the equipment section we mainly talk about how great the AP Jacket is. Get yourself one if you haven’t already.
