We've been doing some of these drills at my club for the past month or so. Good, if painful, footwork drills.

Yeah, since it's a conditioning exercise (a combination of dynamic stretching and plyometrics), not a technique exercise, I'm not sure why it wouldn't apply to historical fencing as well.

I'm a late arriver at this topic, and honestly, got too bored to read it whole, but yeah, I think it applies very good. Probably even better for those who do later stuff (like 17-th century rapier).
