Ladies and Gentlemen may I present Jim

Mr Jim Attew, the newest Scholar in the English Martial Arts Academy.

Jim is currently 84 and has been training with us for two months now. He isn't as quick as most of the rest of my students, but his dedication and commitment more than make up for it. His press ups put the rest of us to shame. If I'm half as spry as him when I'm his age I will be more than happy. He sat his Scholar's grading this evening and passed with flying colours.

Well done Jim!

Mine as well. :) Must be a tough fellow even considering martial arts training at his age.

Congratulations to Jim. If I'm still fencing at 84 I will be extremely happy.

Unfortunately Jim isn't able to train with us any more - we had to change the night of our club and it clashes with his Aikido club - however I still see him often. Last week he was awarded his 5th Dan. Pretty good stuff for a man who actively served during WWII.

He is an ongoing inspiration to me.
