Sword and Buckler video test

Postby OdinoSenzaOcchi » 30 Jul 2012 22:37

Hi!

I bought some time ago a GoPro Hero 2 and I really fell in love with it; the other day we tried to fight wearing the camera on the fencing mask and the result was actually enlightening. The video is really vivid and with the slow motion you can see a lot more than usual...really amazing. We had to make a montage of the fight for a promotion and I'd like to share it with you; I'd also like to hear your critics about the fight itself, we started sword and buckler recently and I wanted to know our mistakes. I think that a very big one maybe it's the fact that we don't move the sword and the buckler together. Anyway, here's the video :) P.S. I'm the white one.

That was fun, thanks for posting it :).
There is no problem moving the sword and buckler separately, that is done a lot in Bolognese sword and buckler.

The main piece of advice I would offer would be to make sure you keep the buckler arm extended and to the front - sometimes you both keep the buckler close to the body when it should be extended towards the opponent.

I like swords more than you.

That is pretty cool. I'm wondering, though, if that camera would be comfortable enough to strap on lower, say around the neck. I think that would be a better angle for really picking up a lot more of the action.

Thanks to all :) We thought that too, but the lower we strap the camera, the more probable it is that it's going to be hit. Next time we will try to adjust the angle of the support
