Drill & Sword Exercise for Police Constables - 1868

I am very chuffed to have found this:

http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=vIwB ... q=&f=false

Note that the sword exercise is at the rear of the book, and that it is precisely taken from the 1845 British Army regulations for Infantry Officers by Henry Charles Angelo, but with the images changed to represent Police Constables of the time! 8)

I also note that this contains drill for using the Adams revolver - this is the earliest drill on British revolver use that I am aware of!

Wow Policeman armed with sabres! When I get some time I'd like to look over this from a modern sabre/gatka pov.

Might be worth the Metropolitan Police taking another look at this.
