One of the first fruits of Wiktenauer's drive to get more manuscripts digitized and in circulation this year is the Solothurner Fechtbuch (ZBSO Ms. S 554), an early 16th century copy of Paulus Kal's fencing manual. The Solothurner Fechtbuch has unarguably the best art of the Paulus Kal series, though unfortunately about half of its pages were lost in the distant past. The Zentralbibliothek Solothurn not only scanned the manuscript, but at our request also released it for free on WikiMedia Commons where it can be viewed and downloaded. Enjoy.
