Challenges and info for Martial Challenge!

The main problem I have with that idea (the templates) is that it is not quick and easy for newbs to use and thus won't be used.

Exactly- something like Dreamweaver can set up a page with headings and spaces to edit between them. It should be a one step process- Template:X and then fill in the gaps. I'll have a play in a little while.

There has to be a way to make this really simple, but I'm having an arse of a time finding the right commands.

I've got it.. I think. We'll need to put it in the Wiki Templates dropdown (however that's done) but try the Challenge template now.

I seem to be getting a few problems making it display as a button, but once that happens you can click on it an you get some text boxes to fill in. Did I mention I was a tester, not a bloody programmer?

When you create a new page how do you get the template rather than a blank page?

Blast, I meant to get back to this earlier- There's a drop box of templates in the right hand corner of the data entry box. There's a selection "more templates" or something similar. Click that and enter challenge.

I think I need to get Sylvan to edit the dropdown so the templates appear without having to search.

I added it to the editor and also put up a 'Templates' page (with a link to it in the main menu). We can describe templates there. It also has a link to the page you can edit to add templates to the dropdown menu.

Excellent. That seems to work nicely now.

I've changed the wording and explanation so that it doesn't look like you should edit the challenge template.

My challenge with Mike has lost all details

Fixed. It was a problem caused by an earlier edit of the template- your details ended up there rather than on the page itself.

Things will be fine as long as the variables- those things with {{{Wordybit}}} are not edited.

Thanks for this Paul, good work!
How many challenges are left to put up? Oz vs. Me isn't up and I think some of the Danish/German challenges. I still need to edit Harry vs. Nigel, if I can ever work out how to deal with that format.
