Dear Mr. Claus Sorensen

My dear friend,

are you willing to find out how the fifth reyssen really works??? if the answer is yes, I would be honored to challenge you for a little halfswording duell at swordfish, so you can cut/stab me into pieces :)

my suggestion:

* weapons: shinais and wooden daggers
* protection: mask are a must, rest... I don't care
* target area: I would suggest armour openings only, just for the fun
* bonus "round": we start in the "reyssen" position :)

I am looking forward for your acceptance

yours sincerely

Dear Harry

Hehe, let us see if we can figure something out then. :)

and just for the fun of it, since I consider most of this stuff too dangerous for free play (or whatever to call it) ................ and since we are doing the techniques without armour and how this influences the fight and how the techniques really works.

So there are some issues we have to agree on. I propose the following..........

Hehe, out of religious reasons I will have to say no to shinai as our choice of weapon-simulator. Let us choose another one.......... wood? or steel with a nice round point?

I really think we should stick to "brendshirn"-techniques (= thrusting techniques), meaning no full force mortschlag and such stuff. I would not like to be at the recieving end of such a strike either to the head, collarbone or knee :)

Most of the wrestling moves I know in halfswording would injure my opponent if done at speed and with force so let us decide that if one of us manages to "setup" such a situation, he just shouts "stop" and that is the end of it (no going through with the technique?) How does that sound?

I guess that this last part would probably mean that there is no use of wooden daggers since the wrestling will never get that far........ But who knows, let us bring them as well.

Targetareas = agreed.

5th reyssen = hehe, if I get to be Talhoffer and use his universal counter that works against all the "gee durch" moves = Ok. :D

But let us see if we can do something fun?

Best wishes my friend

YIPIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEH! no shinais!!!!!!

I would prefer steel, because I have no wooden sticks, so fine for me! :)

just thrusting and no mortsstreich.... fine for me, just some little locks and if it get to hard, just call it out! also fine for me

wooden daggers.... could be fun, if one of us is getting disarmed :)

sounds like real fun! yippiiiieeee

best wishes my friend

It is an honour to inform me, that the martial challenge happened at Swordfish.

Mr. Warzecha gave the honour to judge.

The challenge went 2:3 to Mr. Sorensen, which made him the noble winner.

The fight was hard and fair and a real fun!

Thank you for having this opportunity

Hi Harry,

was big fun watching but I wasn't a judge on that one. In fact, I wasn't a judge in any MC. I was just marshalling your dagger challenge with Magnus.

Hope you had a safe trip back home,

true, I thought you marshalled both fights.....

claus and I watched now at least ....hhhhmmm 20 times the video... and analyzed it as good as possible....

so here is our final result:

we had 6 passes

the fight ended 3:3

but, claus is still the winner because of the better and harder hits.

Well done.
Excellent presentation.
I liked the manuscript plates and the comments. Helped immensely to understand and evaluate what was going on.
Thanks for this one guys.
