Poleaxe challange to Mr. Cognot and Mr. Perrier

Postby Harry » 18 Oct 2008 04:52

I, Mr. Harald Winter would like to challange Mr. Cognot to a poleaxeduel.

Place and Date: Dreynevent in Vienna

Weapons: wooden poleaxes (we have them)

armor: as much as you wish, masks are a must have

rules: stopping the fight by ourself after one of us would have got a serious "killing blow".

when I am dead.. I will reincarnate immediately and I would like to challange Mr. Cyrill Perrier for the next poleaxe-duel with the same terms.

yours sincerely
Harald Winter

I shall forward your challenge to the said Mr Perrier, and confirm on his behalf whenever I have the information, for our presence in the fair city of Vienna is not certain (though it is most likely).

In the meantime, rest assured that I, Fabrice Cognot, the Lion of Dijon, most hapily and liberally accept your challenge, and agree on the time and place - let it be known however that, should the protections available to me at the said time (be them mine or provided by a friendly soul) be proven unsufficient, the fight would have to be postponed, for the preservation of our mutual safeties.

I shall nonetheless spare no effort to be there in the said place and time, with good spiritual armour protecting my undying soul and physical armour protecting my corporeal body, to fight with the most honourable of all weapons the poll-axe, in a timid attempt to emulate the past and unparallelled prowess and greatness of my Burgundian predecessors in this test of skill, might, and honour.

Yours most sincerely

Fab

PS : Prepare the beadcrumbs. This will end in Schnitzel. At least for someone.

Good thing with this duel is that neither Kurso and I had too book return flights. Harry will just have to send us back by post once he got us all flattened. Make sure not to mix the addresses on the enveloppes please.

More seriously, I'll need good gloves for that one. Or even gauntlets. I fear my galls gloves won't be enough.

And what of the other protective gear ? I hate to ask that, but it seems my carrying capacity will be limited this year, and I don't know if I'll bring one of our armours along.

well.... mask is no prob... we can also provide a gambeson (hopefully)

I for myself will only use gloves and mask... should be enough I guess.... no pain, no gain.

if the protection gear isn't enough for you, we will reschedule it to dijon, shouldn't be a problem. will give me just more time to do more workout and weightlifting to get a little bit more strenght ;)

i am sorry to inform you, that none of my challenges did happen. due to my stupidity I ripped my tendon of the top joint of the index finger and I cracked this joint during some stickfighting against a zornhau guy.

well as far as I would say I would judge it as a draw, but I also have to confess that christoph was the much better polearmfigther

sorry, but I guess you have to wait until dijon....
