Royal Gunpowder Mills event 17-18 June

Postby admin » 14 Mar 2006 13:37

So we have our annual slot at the Mills - what would people like to do there this year? Obviously it's the weekend after Aberdeen, so some will not be able to make it, and some of us might be quite exhausted. But I'm sure we can do some fun stuff - suggestions welcome,

I really did enjoy the pugilism last year, because I have never done that before. I hope we are welcome to participate this year as well. In which case I intend to not be sick and exhausted.

BTW you know that Ryanair has cheap trips to Gothenburg from Stanstead *hint*. If you book your tickets in advance all you have to pay is taxes... and Gothenburg is full of beautiful women who after a long dark winter always strips down to a bare minimum of clothes... If you come here 21-23 july there is a medieval event in the castle of Bohus were we meet up with Norwegian friends every year in a joint effort to bring HEMA to the masses. Or you can show up when you like.

Of course you're very welcome at the Mills, as is anyone else!
I have been invited to teach at a seminar in Stockholm some time in the autumn, so I should be there for that. You know we (myself, James and Gordon primarily) have been talking about a trip to Gothenburg for ages.. we just never get round to organising it - partly because we've all had a lot of commitments in the last 6 months. If I can get my ass into gear then I'd love to come over though.

I spoke to David the other day and he said he had invited you to Malmö as well. Swedes seem to like you. Might have something to do with that ass and gear you were alluding to...

Ah it's Malmo is it? - my fault, I just assumed Stockholm for some reason.
Let's see if the Swedes still like me after Dijon :).

We should really be looking at knocking all the French and Germans out - what about a northern alliance?
Michael Huber has already stated that he is going to knock the Austrians and non-existant Russians out.

Ah well, why not. Being half swedish/half welsh my family has some history in flogging germans and russians. The french I can wage war on seeing that this pitiful excuse of a country has stolen my girlfriend for six months.

It would be more fair to help France who gave you the dynasty who rules now your country :)

You can't ally with Republics - there's no honour in it.

Will the goths be staying around until Tuesday night to join us in the pub to watch England will thrash Sweden in the world cup?

If, for chance, I managed to come, which doesn't sound too likely since I have to give 3 additional exams to become a high school teacher in these monthes (not to mention my father's health :? ), I would be glad to give a class (if there was time for that in the schedule).
